 EMIGRATION

 Per la parte negativa esposta nei due precedenti capitoli, inoltre per la numerosa sempre crescente popolazione e per la minima rendita del terreno, in questi ultimi tempi si è affacciato maggiormente il problema dell'emigrazione diretta alle varie parti del mondo.
Nell'Australia vi sono più di cento pescosolidani; nel Venezuela 5; nell'Uruguai 3; nella Francia 15; nell'Inghilterra 12; nell'Argentina 21; Congo Belga 2.
Il maggior numero di paesani si trovano a Toronto nel Canadà e a Detroit negli U. S. A.
A Toronto vi sono 700 Pescosolidani; a Detroit ne vivono circa 300.
L'emigrazione non deve essere considerata solo nel senso stretto della parola; ma anche in " sensu lato ". Difatti molti Pescosdidani, il cui numero si avvicina al migliaio.
risiedono a Roma per lavoro o per impiego. La maggior parte di essi si considerano ancora " paesani" venendo spesso e passando le ferie estive nel loro paese natio.
Questi emigranti temporanei sentono e coltivano la nostalgia verso il paese natale, perché qui videro per la prima volta il sole e qui desiderano dargli l'addio.
