The
Society Worker of Mutual Help of Pescosolido was born in Detroit (U. S. A.)
in 1923. The "first partners and founders " were some pescosolidanis of it that there they were found to work and precisely Joseph Catenaro, that was chosen president, Antonino Macciocchi was Loreto, vice-president, Joseph Corsetti was Luigi, secretary of correspondence and finance,Brown Giovan Battista was Joseph, treasurer, Joseph Guida was Anthony administrator,(or mayor), Domenico Sarrecchia was Luigi, administrator, Pasquale Ciccolini was Angel, portabandiera, Bernardino Toto, marshal, Vincent Ascione was Angel,Pasquale Gates it was Joseph, Cross Cappuccitti, Pasquale Catenaro of Angel,Anthony Cianfarani, Giovanni Cianfarani, Raffaele Cianfarani was Phillip, Savior Ciccolini,Giulio Ciccone was Angel, Donato's Costantino Corsetti, Bonaventura Guadagni, Loreto Guadagni of Domenico, Vincent Guadagni was Luigi, Giovanbattista Marrone was Amedeo, Charles Minolli,Anthony Rea, Ferdinando Rea was Mark, Joseph Sarra was Pietro, Anthony Scappaticci was Francis,Joseph Scenna was Michael, Valentine Simone, Domenico Tersigni of Daniel and Joseph Tersigni of Daniel. They were 31, "all residents of Detroit Mich., S. U. A." The purpose that they proposed him of to reach, was equal to that of the affiliate to the other Societies Workers: to help himself/herself/themselves to story in case of need (death, illness, unemployment etc.). Since then the providences didn't exist of which today all indiscriminately usufruiamo: indemnity of unemployment, paid vacations, family checks, dismissal for illness remunerated, liquidation for end of the relationship of job, pension of old age or invalidity, free sanitary assistance etc. etc. they were all unknown things, unimaginable,he/she anchors a lot of there to come. Then each was remunerated in base to the worked days (not to the hours, since he almost always worked from the dawn to the sunset, in all the regions and in all the seasons). Her days not worked (for maltempo, illness or other motives) you/they were not remunerated. So the problem was that to always work and however and, if possible, also in the festive days (but the Church forbade him/it). Every serious and responsible worker especially if it had to load a numerous family,it never forgot to fervently beg himself/herself/themselves to the eternal Father so that it gave him the health to keep on working. Since he/she knew, the unhappy one, that if you/he/she had been forced to interrupt the job, every pay would be stopped for its family and he you/he/she would be fallen in the blackest indigence. But obviously the eternal Father listened always not to the prayers what you/they were turned him (we know well that the sketches of God are completely different from those conceived by the human mind); so illnesses, unemployment, military service and old age they were there always, behind the angle, to persecute and to make difficult the worker's existence. Lost the job and meeting place to the desperation him, if it was able,it went to ask help to whom found under best conditions, hocking what it possessed: some laundry, some gold, a field, a cottage. But since to the expiration he/she didn't succeed in returning how much you/he/she had had in loan,it also lost what had hocked. It is poverty it was added to poverty. Belonging to the Society Worker, instead, the partners could live with relative calm, since they knew that, in case of need, you/they would have received a help, if not decisive,at least sufficient not to die day hunger. Various they were the forms of assistance. In case of illness, if totally unable and forced in bed, the partners received in the first ones three months 35 weekly liras (beginning from the seventh day of illness), for other three months 25 weekly liras, for the following 3 months 15 weekly liras and for the last three months liras 7,50. If they were in bed instead forced and you/they could make " the jobs of house or direction in the country", they received halves the benefits above specified: liras 17,50 in the first three months, 12,50 in the following three months etc. However there was a limit: who in one year it had usufruito of all the benefits above suitable, for the following two years, beginning from the last benefit, you/he/she could not receive others of it. Over that of the benefit, the sick partners were able usufruire of three weekly medical visits,"if necessary". In 1929 doctor Domenico Porfidia, physician duct of the country, hocked him to take care of "of any illness the partners all of the society worker of mutual help of Pescosolido" behind a remuneration annual forfettario of 200 liras "what the partners' subscription all in case of illness", Beginning from 1931 the medical visits were also wide to the family ones.It was still doctor Porfidia that hocked him to lend her, but to condition that the family ones they did "subscription through liras ten to head ".
