È difficile fissare l'origine della Parrocchia.
Nel 1703, in una relazione dell' Arc. D. Antonio Di Prospero che si conserva nella curia vescovile di Sora, si afferma la stessa cosa.
I vari incendi a cui andò soggetto il paese nelle epoche
feudali e più ancora la distruzione dell'abitato operata per ordine di Federico Il nel 1229 perché il paese si era conservato fedele al Duca Riccardo, fratello di Innocenzo III (1161-1216), hanno fatto perdere ogni memoria storica della Parrocchia.
Il registro più antico, quello dei Battesimi che si può vedere nell'Archivio Parrocchiale, risale al 1598.
Un antifonario del 1200, come si legge dal Chronicon della Parrocchia, fu trovato nel 1920 del tutto rovinato. Oggi ne resta il ricordo.
Un inventario di beni spettanti alla Parrocchia cosi dice:
"Jnventario delli beni che possiede S. Giovanni di Peschisolido chiesa curata, recavati da un istrominto in carta bombacili per mano de Notaro Nicola De Cancillo di Peschisolido et sono infrascritti addì 15 Ottobre 1569 ". Inoltre in loco non esiste sorta alcuna dilapidi od iscrizioni commemorative da cui trarre qualche notizia certa.
La tradizione vuole che quando Pescosolido fu saccheggiata dai Saraceni nell'840 e nel 916, le funzioni parrocchiali fossero esercitate in una chiesa rurale.
