  THE RECONSTRUCTION FROM THE RUINS IS THE NEW DEVELOPMENT

Un'altra prova toccava all'Italia: la guerra del 1940-45 che portò lutti e distruzioni in tutta la penisola, specialmente dopo l'armistizio dell'8 settembre 1943.
9 ottobre 1943. Giunsero improvvisamente a Pescosolido 250 tedeschi i quali requisirono le principali abitazioni per il loro ricovero. Il villino dei Mariani fu sede del Comando Generale essendo Pescosolido luogo di smistamento di truppe per il fronte di Cassino.Pescosolido in quest'occasione seppe compiere atti di generosità e carità andando oltre la razza e la religione. Prigionieri inglesi, americani indiani, e neri vagavano per le montagne chiedendo asilo e pane. Pescosolido rispose con i suoi abitanti che,
andando a turno in montagna e sfidando l'ira teutonica,provvedevano a rifocillare i prigionieri ed i perseguitati politici che cercavano di passare il fronte.
L'aiuto non fii dato solo agli stranieri, ma a tutti i numerosi sfollati provenienti da Sora, Atina, Picinisco, Gallinaro e Cassino. In quei tempi spesso bisognava accontentarsi solo di un tozzo di pane nero e senza sale. 30 maggio 1944: alle ore 13 piombarono sul paese alcune cannonate le quali tolsero la vita a 4 persone. Nella notte un continuo cannoneggiamento turbò la quiete del paese mentre tre cannonate colpirono la Chiesa parrocchiale. Tutti si ritirarono nelle grotte ed attesero, soffrendo la fame, che le truppe neozelandesi della ottava armata inglese con poderosi carri armati, scortati da squadriglie di bombardieri, entrassero in paese per far tornare la quiete e la pace e per dare il via al nuovo periodo di ricostruzione post bellica che doveva rendere il paese sempre più bello e più abitabile.
Cominciò il primo sindaco del dopoguerra, il prof. Nicolino Marrone.
L'intenso e vasto programma fu' continuato dagli insegnanti Giuseppe Cioffi e Giovanni Marrone e dal prof. Luigi Ruggieri con la collaborazione degli onorevoli Andreotti, Campilli, Restagno e Fanelli. Dal 1964 fino al marzo del 1982 e dal giugno 1985 fino al 1993 è stato sindaco il dott. Paolino Panetta.
Nel periodo 82-85, avendo il dott. Panetta rassegnato le dimissioni perché nominato Capo Gabinetto del Ministro per le Politiche Comunitarie prima e dei Rapporti con il Parlamento poi, cariche incompatibili con quella di Sindaco, ha ricoperto la carica di primo cittadino il maresciallo Giuseppe Tersigni.
Dopo di questi ha amministrato il comune il geom. Renzo Cancelli.
Problemi nuovi sempre più gravi e improrogabili nel tempo si sono presentati dato l'evolversi dei tempi, e con l'interessamento soprattutto del Ministro Andreotti molte sono state le opere realizzate: ammodernamento di strutture viarie di campagna e costruzione di nuove, pubblica illuminazione, servizi igienici e sanitari fino ad affrontare il problema della nuova rete idrica non più idonea sia per l'usura del tempo, sia per la scarsità dell'acqua rispetto ai bisogni crescenti della popolazione, sia per le perdite che provocano notevoli disagi specie durante il periodo estivo.
Comunque l'intento degli amministratori non è stato quello di dare spazi a velleitari divertimenti, ma creare la cultura del riposo, della quiete, della serenità per tanti paesani che vivono tutto l'anno nelle città, ed offrire questi momenti di salute a quanti vengono nelle principali feste e durante il periodo estivo a passare alcuni giorni in paese. I pescosolidani sono grati a quanti in un modo o nell'altro hanno beneficato il nostro paese e riconfermano la riconoscenza e la fiducia a quanti hanno a cuore le sorti di Pescosolido.

In that times it often needed to be satisfied only of a piece of black bread and without salt. May 30 th 1944: at 1 pm they fell on the country some cannonades which killed 4 people. In the night a continuous cannonade upset the quiet of the country while three cannonades struck the parish Church. All withdrew him in the caves and they attended, suffering the hunger, that the troops neozelandesi of the octave army English with mighty armed wagons, escorted by squadrons of bombardiers, they entered country to make to return the quiet and the peace and to start the new period of reconstruction war post that had to make more and more the beautiful and more habitable country.

In the period 82-85, having the dott. Resigned Panetta the resignations because named Head Bathroom of the Minister for the Community Politics before and of the Relationships with the Parliament incompatible positions with that of Mayor, have covered then, the position of first citizen the marshal Giuseppe Tersigni.

Serious new problems more and more and not postponed in the time they are introduced datum the to evolve himself/herself/themselves some times, and with the interest above all of Minister a lot of Andreotti has been the realized works: modernization of road structures of country and construction of new, public illumination, hygienic and sanitary services thin to face the problem of the new fitter water net both for the usury of the time, both for the shortage of the water in comparison to the increasing needs of the population, and for the losses that provoke notable uneasiness kind during the summer period.
However the intent of the administrators has not been that to give spaces to fanciful funs, but to create the culture of the rest, of the quiet, of the serenity for so many fellow townsman that live the whole year in the cities, and to offer these moments of health to how much they come in the principal parties and during the summer period to spend some days in country. The pescosolidanis are thankful to how much in a way or in the other one you/they have benefited our country and they reinstate the thankfulness and the trust to how much they have to heart the fates of Pescosolido.
